Elevator Heartbreak
She lived up high on the first floor, I had just moved in on the sixth, And from the start, it was clear for sure: In the elevator, our paths would never mix. She said she adored the stage’s glow, So I bought us tickets for a show, Invited her to join my night. But she spun a tale, a reason so trite, Just to dodge the chance to go, And it was clear as day, She never felt for me that way.
