She stands where silence gets too loud, on the edge of one more breath, where hope feels like a stranger and love tastes close to death. All her life she’s been a body, never truly seen inside, just passing hands and hollow words, no place safe enough to hide. Eyes that stripped her down to nothing, smiles that never meant a thing, every touch felt cold and borrowed, every promise paper-thin. Then he came like soft confession, said the words she longed to hear, timed so perfectly it healed her, even if it wasn’t clear. He spoke life into her darkness, held her heart like it was gold, and for once she felt like more than just a story being told. She learned love in fragile moments, in the way he said her name, in the warmth she’d never tasted, in a heart she couldn’t tame. But love built on broken timing has a way of coming loose, truth gets buried under comfort, and affection turns to use. Now she feels it slowly fading, in the quiet, in his eyes, where forever turns to distance and sweet words dissolve to lies. Months and years begin unraveling, thread by thread, it slips away, traded in for shiny distractions, things that never chose to stay. And she’s back where she once started, on that edge she tried to flee, but this time it hurts much deeper— now she knows what love can be. Still she stands, not fully broken, though her world is torn apart, because even losing him now doesn’t erase her learning heart.
