On a Rainy Day

Rain drops come in many forms, before they land on you, Theres hard and soft and drizzle rain, and on grass it forms as dew. In the morning on a summer’s day, it makes the garden grow, And in the winter, it will freeze, and the raindrops fall as snow. Rivers are replenished, brooks and tributaries they will swell, After a Somers drought and a hose pipe ban it’s time to say farewell. Summertime has ended, and autumn time is here, As storm clouds gather in the sky, it makes the sunshine disappear. Rain drops come down at an angle, against your window pain, It hits the roof into the gutter and gurgles down the drain. So, you batten down the hatches and plan to stay indoors, The dark sky is lit by a lightning flash, then the thunder roars. See it as a blessing, we need rain to survive, we drink it from the tap to help us stay alive. When, you get a cloud burst, we might think the weathers cursed, The floods and torrential downpours will make the rivers burst. So too much rain is not so good and not enough is bad, The human race is never happy, and this makes me rather sad.

I quite like the rain, although many don’t. I like the sounds it makes, hitting the roof or windows of our home and burbles down the drainpipe. Published date:
