DYING ROSES
When a heart cares to much
I held you once like morning dew, Your petals soft against my skin, The world was bright because of you, Then winter came and caved within. I watch you wilt in silent air, Your colors fade to ghostly gray, I reach for you but you're not there, Just thorns that cut and make me pay. I water you with all my tears, But nothing brings you back to me, I've loved you now for endless years, Yet still you die so silently. They say a rose can bloom again, But mine has turned to ash and dust, I'll love you through the bitter rain, And rot with you because I must.
