THE PRICE OF PEACE
The flowers blooms likenothings wrong
This was supposed to be our place. A quiet door, a roof that held. Walls that knew your face, where every room was filled. But I walk through now and feel the cold. The vines have strangled every light. The wind still moans but you're not here to hold, and every corner swallows what was bright. The flowers bloom like nothing's wrong. The bees still hum, the roses climb. But I hear nothing but my own sad song, and the memory of you in every line. Out past the cliffs, the sea still roars, but I don't watch the sun go down. I just stand still by bolted doors, the only king in a broken town. You said we'd be happy here. You promised peace beneath the moon. Now I'm just the shadow you left near, and love's not a home, it's a wound.
