WHISPERED

Some men watch love beneath the rain, While lovers hold each other tight. They hide their hearts behind the pain, And walk through streets alone each night. He watched a couple holding hands today, Their laughter filled the evening air. He smiled, then slowly walked away, And wished somebody waited for him there. He spent his years believing love stayed, That someday someone would appear near. But every hope he held slowly faded, And every birthday brought another tear. One night he stood beneath moonlight's glow, And whispered, Was love never for me Some men are born to watch love grow, In worlds they'll never live to see
